Reviews Rules

Reviews Rules

General Guidelines when writing a review on Yummy Anime, follow these recommendations to increase the chances of your work being approved without additional revisions.

Please note that we interpret the term "review" more broadly than its academic definition. Avoid writing in a strictly academic format.

1. Topics and Specifics

Understand that your review is likely to be read by people who haven't seen the anime, so it's important to provide enough context for them to decide whether it's worth watching. Be specific about events and characters. Vague descriptions apply to nearly any work — if your text could describe any anime, it’s underdeveloped.

2. Analysis

Try to analyze the work: describe the setting and plot, highlight its strengths and weaknesses, and draw parallels with similar anime. Including your personal opinion is important.

3. Structure

Follow a clear structure: for example, one section for characters, another for animation, and another for the soundtrack, etc.

4. Grammar and Spelling

Your text must be grammatically correct and adhere to the rules of the Russian language.

5. Character Count

Minimum character count: 1500
Maximum character count: 100000

6. Formatting

The review must be properly formatted: avoid large blocks of unbroken text. Use paragraph breaks and formatting tools (italic, bold, underline, etc.) appropriately.

7. Spoilers

Spoilers are allowed, but you must include a warning at the beginning of the review. You may also use a spoiler-hiding feature. Plot points from the first two episodes or the first 20 minutes of a movie do not count as spoilers.

8. Images and GIFs

Images and GIFs are welcome in your review, but do not overuse them.

9. Season Reviews

Reviews for later seasons should only be published after a review of the first season exists. Start with season one.

In reviews for subsequent seasons, do not re-explain the plot or characters from earlier seasons — this should be covered in the first season’s review.

If the review covers all seasons, it should be published on the first season’s page.

If the review covering all seasons contains spoilers, include a spoiler warning for each season at the beginning of the text.

10. Ongoings

Reviews are not allowed for anime that have not yet aired.

11. Slang

Avoid using slang in your review as much as possible.

12. Use of AI

The use of artificial intelligence in writing reviews is strictly prohibited.

13. Translated Reviews

Translating someone else’s review is not allowed.

14. Questions

For any questions, contact the Head of the reviews department Nord or other reviewers.
